Workshop Description
The true story of a person saved thanks to techniques learned from a television series (CBC, 2019) highlights how popular culture can become a powerful learning lever. What if this approach could also help us better understand team dynamics and relational competencies in project management?
This immersive workshop draws on the universe of The Office, a cult series that, through humor and caricature, reveals realities well known in organizations and project teams. Through selected video clips, individual reflection, and group discussions, participants will explore the social, relational, and leadership challenges inherent in project environments.
By moving back and forth between fiction and reality, the session will address—both playfully and in depth—power relationships, leadership styles, and the Power Skills that are now essential for project success. The workshop concludes with a self-assessment of relational competencies and the development of a concrete action plan to strengthen them in professional practice.
Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
-
Identify ways to improve collective project team performance based on situations inspired by The Office
-
Reflect on relational competencies (leadership, influence, negotiation) and power dynamics in project contexts
-
Experience an immersive, memorable, and innovative learning approach aligned with PMI orientations and current organizational expectations
-
Initiate a concrete action plan to strengthen their Power Skills in project management.
