ÉTS: The campus development and its related organizational structures.

In 40 years of existence, this engineering training facility has become one of the largest in Canada with more than 7,500 students in more than 100 programs covering the three university cycles.

To support this growth, the ÉTS has established itself on Notre Dame in 1996. Its campus is located near the Lachine Canal in Griffintown.
From 1996 to today, no less than $ 350 million (about 2 million ft2) were invested in the construction of institutional and residential buildings. A development master plan for its undeveloped assets was developed and adopted in 2009 to identify the best approach to judiciously exploit the development potential of its land and property reserves. Throughout the development of the integrated urban campus, the school has adopted flexible functional organizational structures that have evolved considerably during the periods pre and post "Development Master Plan".
The presentation will focus on the main stages of development of the campus of the ETS and the evolution of the functional organizational structure in the context of university governance.

Speaker :Yves Beauchamps holds a BA in Industrial Engineering and a Master of the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) and a doctorate in industrial engineering from the University of West Virginia, Mr. Beauchamp was appointed director Interim General of ÉTS in 2002, he was confirmed in office in 2003 and reappointed in 2008. At the end of his term at ÉTS, he joined the University of Montreal as part of a loan interinstitutional service and are successively held the post of Director General and Vice-President to the development of the new Outremont campus. Since July 2105, he returned to his professorship holder in Mechanical Engineering at ÉTS.
Supported by a strong management team, it gives a new impetus to the ETS which became, under his leadership, one of the largest in Canada. He was able to transform this institution into a true urban campus part of a growth momentum. There is growing dramatically curricula and research chairs. There multiplies links with industry. Moreover, it helps revitalize the quadrangle where are the ETS installations (southwest of Montreal), especially by pulsing the birth of "Innovation Square". After putting the project on track mixed area, Mr. Beauchamp was entrusted in 2013 the responsibility for the development of another major project: the Outremont site of the University of Montreal.
Mr. Beauchamp has received "Fellow" of the Canadian Academy of Engineering in 2010 and promoted to the rank of "chevalier" of the Ordre national du Québec in 2014. In 2013, he received the Medal of the National Assembly in recognition outstanding contribution to the development of the École de technologie supérieure and Homage recognition for outstanding contributions in research and teaching awarded by the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec. In 2012, he received the Builder - innovation system of the Association for the Development of Research and Innovation in Quebec (ADRIQ).
