Description

This presentation will take you through a large scale NAV CANADA project that implemented automated Runway Surface Condition Reporting across more than 100 airports in Canada.

It will talk about the experience of dealing with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders, the difficulties in the development and implementation of a new system in an environment where safety is paramount and change is not always welcome.

Speaker : Olivier Meier, PMP, Manager Data Integration, NAV CANADA

Olivier Meier joined NAV CANADA in 2010 after having worked for IATA in Montreal for two years and skyguide (the Swiss Air Navigation Service Provider) for over 10 years. During that period he worked in the area of Air Traffic Management and Air Traffic Control simulations. He is trained as an Air Traffic Controller, has a Bachelor in IT Project Management and is a PMP. At NAV CANADA he started in the Aeronautical Information Management department (AIM) as a Project Manager on projects such as SNOWiz and the ICAO NOTAM Transition. He holds now the position of Manager Data Integration looking into System Wide Information Management (SWIM) enabled Air Traffic Management.
