Today’s organizations are looking for tomorrow’s leadership team.  As a good project manager the next step in your career could very well take you to this next level: senior leadership.  But how do you get there?   What will it take to get your career to this next level?   How can you move from a management position to one of a leader: a senior leader within your industry or elsewhere?

This workshop will put aside the skills and knowledge you need to have to be a good project manager and focus on what you need to be a great leader.  Over the course of the morning we will explore the gaps between our skills, knowledge and professional attributes and those of famous and local leaders.

Speaker : DavidBarrett is a National Program Director for The Centre of Excellence in Project Management and Business Analysis at The Schulich Executive Education Centre, Schulich School of Business, York University in Toronto.

David is also a professional speaker specializing in inspiring leaders at all levels in all industries.  His key area of focus is the art and science of getting work done: execution leadership, project leadership and personal leadership. 

Previously, he was the Group Conference Director at Diversified Business Communications where he ran project management and business analysis events (ProjectWorld Canada, ProjectSummit and BusinessAnalystWorld) and he was the Executive Editor of ProjectTimes.com and BATimes.com.

He is the author of Leadership Perspectives, co-author of The Power of The Plan and co-compiler of The Keys to Our Success and The Business Analyst Book of Mentors. His 5th book is due out in 2016: From Strategy to Execution – Bridging the Gap. 

He has been a PMI member in good standing since 1997.
