The PMI Standards Library is composed of different types of documents: “Foundational Standards”, “Guides”, “Practice Standards”, Practice Guides”, “Lexicon”. This presentation will clarify the differences between them and will explain the process leading to a new or updated version of a standard by PMI, under the umbrella of ANSI, the American Standard Association.
Mr. Yvan Petit et Mr. Alejandro Romero-Torres were part of the core teams for the update of “Standard for Portfolio Management 3rd Edition” and of the “PMBOK® Guide 6th Edition” respectively. These will be used as examples of the process leading to the publication of a PMI Standard. A comparison with the ISO development process will also be presented.
The evening will be concluded with a workshop where the participants will be able to discuss their use and points of view regarding the PMI Standards.
