Symposium 2026: A Great Collective Success

ByPMI-Montréal,

2 minutes
The Palais des congrès de Montréal awoke early that morning, filled with a rare energy. In its light-filled corridors, it was already clear that something important was about to unfold. The 2026 Symposium was not just back, it returned completely reimagined: larger, more ambitious, and more vibrant than ever.

Very quickly, the numbers spoke for themselves: over 400 participants, 80 volunteers, more than 20 workshops, networking areas, an executive lounge, a partner exhibition hall, a PMO 5 à 7, offered by Adsum Consulting Group, the Élixir Awards ceremony followed by a cocktail presented by ESG UQAM, and a podcast space hosted by glm… Everything was designed to foster meaningful exchanges, ideas, and connections.

But beyond the numbers, it was the spirit of the Symposium that truly stood out.
A spirit of connection, curiosity, and shared transformation.

Highlights that defined this edition
The opening keynote set the tone with a rich and engaging discussion between Pierre Le Manh and Alcides Santopietro, immediately capturing the audience’s attention.

Two Grand Rendez-vous sessions followed, featuring Pierre Lainey and Mark Esposito, each offering a unique perspective on ongoing transformations.

Executive panels were among the most anticipated moments. Addressing topics such as mobility and large-scale transformations, Philippe Batani, Renée Amilcar, Joëlle Brodeur, Caroline Bourgeois, and Valérie Haineault shared candid, real-world insights.

The Élixir Awards ceremony, brilliantly hosted by Caroline Côté, was another standout moment.

A fully engaged ecosystem
The 20 workshops offered true spaces for dialogue, where ideas were challenged, refined, and transformed into actionable insights, contributing to a rich and immersive experience.

The exhibition hall energized both days, encouraging spontaneous encounters, discoveries, and high-value discussions. Partner booths - including Cofomo, Planisware, Adsum Consulting Group, Hydro-Québec, Decasult, Desjardins, La Personnelle, Nova Global, VIA Rail Canada, Agile Montréal - along with the podcast space in collaboration with glm, brought dynamic and engaging interactions to life.

The executive lounge provided a more exclusive setting for strategic discussions in a professional yet welcoming atmosphere.

Finally, audiovisual production by Solotech ensured every moment was fully experienced, while the support of OPC Événements guaranteed smooth logistical execution throughout the event.

A team and a community behind the success
A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers for their commitment and active contribution to the success of the event, as well as to our NextGen Committee for their involvement and energy throughout the Symposium.
None of this would have been possible without the PMI-Montréal team, who have worked for months to bring this event to life:
  • Catherine Laramée | Executive Director

  • Isabelle Legault | Director, Training and Administration

  • Nadjiba Griene | Events and Partnerships Advisor

  • Kashia Malinowska | Community Engagement and Expertise Outreach Advisor

  • Géraldine Mathieu | Member Services and Training Coordinator

  • Olivier Absalon | Communications and Marketing Advisor

  • Dominique Rivet-Dugal | Strategic Communications Consultant

We also extend our thanks to the PMI-Montréal Board of Directors for supporting this renewed vision with conviction and trust.

We were also honored to welcome guests from the Project Management Institute: Pierre Le Manh, Amanda Palmer, Aliki Courmanopoulos, and Terry Roberts.

And this is just the beginning…
All Symposium content will be available on replay with PDU credits, allowing everyone to extend the experience and revisit key moments.

As we left the Palais des congrès, there was a shared feeling of having experienced something truly meaningful.
A Symposium that does more than bring people together, it transforms, connects, and inspires.
A collective success, driven by a community moving forward together.
