A word from the President

Back to school for innovation, growth, equity diversity and inclusion

Back to school spirit, it gives me great pleasure to salute officially for the first time our wonderful community of nearly 5,200 members who are contributing to the growth of the project management profession. It's an innovative, collaborative, and intelligent community, advancing brilliant solutions every day to the many challenges of the transformations (digital, organizational, infrastructure, etc.) facing our society today.

This is a major challenge for project managers, who are working in an increasingly complex and uncertain environment. Considering the disruptive innovations in artificial intelligence, which are creating both opportunities and challenges for organizations and their teams, PMI Montréal is keen to support its members and become an inspiring and resourceful platform.

We articulate, for this new mandate, three floods of actions to position the future of PMI Montréal chapter and its members:

 

Innovation

Today, innovation is the only answer to better manage this disruptive technological momentum, sustainability challenges, new regulations in privacy and data protection, and pandemic crisis, we are determined to be ahead of crowd by sharing expert points of view with you, by creating a new community dedicated to artificial intelligence, and by bringing you together, through our various activities. We would like, together, to anticipate and shape the future by exchanging and reflecting together on new ways to do things. Not to forget the human behind all this, you our members and partners. Our growth

Our know-how is valuable everywhere, and we need to make ourselves better known to different industries to welcome more new members to join our chapter. Our aim is to continue promoting the structuring role and concrete added value of our profession in all industries, including financial services, health and social services, infrastructure, manufacturing, retail, information technology, cultural and creative industries, not to mention NPOs, professional organizations, and government bodies.

My dream is that all these industries will welcome project management professionals, such as PMPs, to help make their businesses more efficient and agile. Spread the word to your friends and colleagues still hesitating to get certified and/or join PMI-Montréal chapter as members.

To achieve this, we will be actively leveraging our public and private course offerings, which stand out in the French-speaking market thanks to our outstanding trainers and our hybrid formula, as well as on developing new strategic partnerships.

 

Diversity, equity of opportunity and inclusion

Finally, we will continue to focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion as part of our DNA. They are anchored as powerful drivers of talent development, knowledge sharing, innovation, and competitiveness, for a strong, healthy, forward-looking corporate culture.

These core values are reflected in our Board of Directors and our permanent staff, whom I would like to extend my warm thanks for their dedication to our organization.

I believe deeply in the power of positive, authentic, and innovative leadership, which invites collaboration, makes room for the best ideas and helps our community to grow and shine with you.

I'm therefore calling on you all to support our chapter, to be part of the various activities, to get involved as a volunteer and to become our ambassadors within your organization and network.
