A transition guided by vision within the Board of Directors
ByPMI-Montreal, 2025-05-22, 9:00
A year of accomplishments and levers to position project management as a driver of performance and innovation.
The past year has been a pivotal one for PMI-Montreal, and the outgoing president, Annie Thibodeau, has succeeded in propelling the organization to new heights.
During her term, she ensured effective governance and mobilizing leadership. She notably led the development of the 2025–2028 strategic vision and actively contributed to the visibility of the association, both locally and internationally. With her experience and ongoing involvement, she continues to bring valuable contributions to the board’s activities and to the continuity of key projects she helped launch.
Here are some of the association’s accomplishments over the past year:
-
A strategic retreat by the Board of Directors that led to the definition of the new strategic plan focused on direct services to members, including the new unique membership offering and an enhancement of volunteering and positioning toward innovation;
-
The strengthening of the head office team, notably with the arrival of the new Executive Director Catherine Laramée;
-
The return to a balanced budget as a non-profit association;
-
The success of flagship events, such as the Annual Symposium and the Élixir recognition competition;
-
An academic tour to promote project management to the next generation and the establishment of the next generation committee;
-
The submission of a brief to the National Assembly of Québec on best practices in infrastructure project management, as well as participation in the parliamentary committee in the context of the adoption of Bill 61.
« I am very proud of what has been accomplished to date, of the continued growth and strength of the association, which is an essential reference in project management, of the incredible engagement of our many dynamic volunteers, and of the hundreds of high-quality annual events. Members can count on my deep and rigorous commitment, which continues in my role as first vice-president. Together, with the board of directors, we are working to connect, equip, and bring our members together to elevate our world.»
– Annie Thibodeau, First Vice-President of the Board of Directors
