As a project control officer, you help plan and monitor projects to meet objectives on time and on budget.

You provide expert opinions and help the project leader and team monitor innovative projects and programs and ensure they are efficient. You plan, prioritize and coordinate work to meet objectives. You anticipate issues and trends, suggest solutions and ensure they are implemented. Your initiatives require extensive knowledge of your specialty area.

Your strategic projects and programs are organizationally and conceptually complex and require comprehensive analysis and understanding of the organization and line of business. Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in many other fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential.

You lead and serve as specialist to teams, decision-making bodies and external providers.

Main responsibilities

  • Help the project leader and team develop and update the project/program plan
  • Monitor project costs and follow up with external and internal providers based on contracts and plans made with the project manager
  • Help produce progress reports. Produce and analyze performance indicators
  • Help prepare presentations, statistics, reports and other documents containing information on project financing, risks and issues and share them with committees and decision-making bodies
  • Serve as liaison between stakeholders to track projects and programs and ensure they are efficient. Establish dependencies and links between projects and programs as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required

Specific knowledges

  • Sound knowledge of the Ms Project
  • Sound knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office suite
  • Extensive knowledge of SAFe Agile methodologies (an asset)
