Description

Reporting to the Director of Real Estate Management at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, the incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling a portfolio of projects. They ensure proper definition of needs, quality of deliverables, and control of costs and schedules. They also contribute to annual and long-term planning, the Québec Infrastructure Plan (PQI), required reporting, and alignment of projects with business priorities, regulatory requirements, and the organization’s strategic directions.
 
Your Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate project activities related to asset maintenance, tenant improvements, and development work
  • Coordinate projects based on asset condition, available budgets, risks, and operational impacts
  • Develop and monitor action plans for project implementation
  • Oversee studies and assessments related to building maintenance (condition reports, façade inspections, parking inspections)
  • Ensure a clear understanding of client needs
  • Implement tools and procedures for tracking project execution, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Ensure projects meet deadlines, quality standards, and budget constraints, with proper resource planning
  • Evaluate project requests, conduct technical and budget analyses, and monitor execution
  • Oversee the development of plans and specifications
  • Participate in drafting and reviewing tender documents for professional services and construction
  • Contribute to the preparation, updating, and monitoring of the Québec Infrastructure Plan (PQI) and related reporting
  • Participate in developing site mobilization strategies
  • Recommend contract awards as required
  • Plan long-term projects in collaboration with internal clients, budgets, and priorities
  • Plan and oversee base building work in retail or leased spaces
  • Ensure effective information sharing among internal and external stakeholders
  • Closely monitor project budgets, cash flow, and invoicing
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Integrate sustainable development clauses into projects in alignment with strategic orientations
  • Manage actions related to signage at the Palais des congrès
  • Oversee contracts with external project management firms
  • Manage human resources under their responsibility
  • Develop and monitor budget forecasts for their sector

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture
  • Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or the Ordre des architectes du Québec (asset)
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in planning and managing a portfolio of projects
  • Experience supervising and coordinating teams in a unionized environment
  • Excellent command of French and English (spoken and written)
  • Strong planning, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and internal client service skills
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and other project management software (asset)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong stress management skills
