In 2017, Montréal took over Paris as the best city for international students, according to a study by the British Institute Quacquarelli Symonds. Paris had led this ranking for the last five years.
The city gathers seven international universities, in addition to other Quebec-wide universities - such as Université de Sherbrooke and Université Laval – that also have a strong presence, making it one of the most bustling university cities. As such, Montreal offers different academic teachings in project management. Anyone who is interested in and wants to learn more about the topic will be able to choose between various options: short-term programs, continuing studies and undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate studies degrees are available in both official languages.
In addition to academic courses, there are several organizations that offer non-academic courses to prepare the PMI certifications. These Registered Education Providers (R.E.P.) have a wide range of courses in project management available. More information related to R.E.P. partners that are recognized by the PMI in Quebec, please visit the R.E.P. section.
Moreover, PMI-Montréal also provides its members with preparatory classes for all PMI certifications. For more information, please visit our Training section.
Trainings and academic courses are ways to improve your technical skills in the field as well as to network. Meeting professors and other professionals is paramount for anyone who wants to learn the foundations and practices of project management in Quebec and thus, integrate herself/himself in the local field community.
“Studying in Quebec is very important for anyone who comes from another professional or cultural environment, as it will teach you the good practices in use here, give you some credibility and increase your professional network.” (Marc Messier)
