Description

OBJECTIVE

Let's celebrate International Women's Rights Day together.

DESCRIPTION

Social commitment is rooted in our experiences. Psychological distress, still taboo today, needs to be discussed. There seem to be tools available, but what about our human capacity to decode, to free ourselves of guilt, to act?

This conference aims to make us aware of certain realities; related to mental health, how to face them without losing ourselves, being part of the solution is often the fact of discussing them without taboo. That's what Sophie and Sylvie are proposing. On the evening of International Women's Day, let's give ourselves the right to support each other and, together, discuss our issues.

Sophie Major PMP, Prince2, BBLSS

An expert in I.T. projects, she has excelled in the management of modernization projects, integrating rigor and empathy. Her personal journey is deeply marked by mental health issues, having herself overcome depression at the age of 25. This experience strengthened her commitment to mental health, leading to over a decade of volunteer work with the Canadian Cancer Society and a key role in Relay for Life, where she achieved a fundraising record. Recently, her involvement has extended to suicide prevention, underlining the vital importance of mental health awareness and support, and reflecting her desire to contribute to the democratization of these sensitive subjects.

Sylvie Robidoux

Previously Executive Assistant, she has distinguished herself through her support of vice-presidencies and her ability to develop talent. Motivated by her experience in charity work, notably against breast cancer, in 2021 she is reorienting herself towards a cause close to her heart: the fight against suicide. Inspired by the tragic suicide of her uncle Clément, she teamed up with a young man to create the Joue Don Challenge, an event combining board games and social commitment, aimed at promoting suicide prevention and mental health in Quebec. This deep commitment to mental health and suicide prevention illustrates her desire to break the silence surrounding a subject that is still all too often taboo.
