BOARD OF DIRECTORSPMI-Montreal was incorporated under the Companies Act, Part III.
PMI-Montreal is led by a board of ten members elected by the members by universal vote for a term of two years. The secretary and the treasurer are named professionnals. An executive committee is constituted and elected by the directors. It is composed of a President, an executive Vice-president, a treasurer and a secretary.
Board meetings are held the fourth Wenesday of each month. The Board also has bi-annual retreats to evaluate and renew its strategic planning.
Benoît Lalonde, MPM, MBA, PMP, CPM, OPM3, RMP
Mr. Lalonde is President of the Montreal Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI), where he also served as Executive Vice President in recent years. Mr. Lalonde is also a member of the Assembly of Partners GP-Québec, the community of practice in management of public projects in Quebec.
As president and founder of GPBL Inc. since 1996, Mr. Lalonde is dedicated to consulting and training on project management issues with organizations of all sizes. He is dynamic and enthusiastic about his profession and has a knack for passing on his passion for project management with a positive attitude. He remains constantly abreast of new trends in the sector and innovatively adapts his products and services accordingly.
As a project management specialist, Benoît is a certified member of the Project Management Institute and a certified PMP (Project Management Professional).
Mr. Lalonde currently hold the office of President of PMI-Montreal, where he has volunteered as Executive Vice-President for the past years. Also, Mr. Lalonde is a member of Partners’ Assembly of GP-Québec.
He is the author of La gestion informatisée de projet: Microsoft Project 2007.
He is also a project management course instructor for a variety of MBA programs as well as programs at the Bachelor's and Master's level in project management at a number of universities. At the consulting level, he applies the simple, multi-mode Integrated Project Management Method (IPMM©), to a wide range of in-company initiatives.
Parisa Allahyari, M.Arch, MBA, PMP, OAQ
Parisa Allahyari is an architect and project manager. She has national and international experience in managing large-scale projects in industrial and institutional sectors. Her practice focuses on architecture, engineering and construction. Parisa Allahyari holds an MBA from HEC Montreal, a Master degree in architecture and a Master degree of Building Engineering. She is a member of the Ordre des architectes du Québec and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) member of the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Parisa Allahyari is recognized for her approaches in effective project management and construction management that engage stakeholders and project teams to achieve the company's vision. Her project management expertise has developed within medium and large organisations of consulting engineering and construction management.
She wishes to promote the project management best practicebetween clients, professionals and general contractors.
Henri-Jean is an independent expert in project and change management, and operates mainly in the financial sector, in the business intelligence area, on highly politicized recovery projects. Mandates led him to build teams and to coach the members to achieve the expected benefits.
Henri-Jean is also an experienced administrator involved in his community, having served on six boards, particularly in the fields of engineering and economic development. He is also trainer for PMP and Prince2 certifications.
Zyna I Boubez, BA, CPA, CA, PMP
Zyna I Boubez is a senior manager in KPMG’s Global Infrastructure Advisory Practice in Montreal. She is an Economist and a Chartered Accountant. She also holds a Project Management Professional designation and is the governance chair on the board of directors of the PMI-Montreal. She has over 20 years of experience and has been involved in the procurement and execution of major infrastructure projects in strategic, financial and process roles.
Kristel Salesse, PMP
With more than 12 years of project management experience and a solid foundation in marketing communications, Kristel has worked in a variety of industries including consulting engineering, health research, food, digital advertising, Web marketing and IT. Declaring herself a project management geek, Kristel is currently a Project Management Practice Lead at Adviso. In her role, she not only acts as a digital project manager for various clients, but she also coaches the project management team to support their professional development, as well as leading the standardization of the practice within Adviso.
Certified CAPM in 2008 and then PMP since 2013, the chapter played a key role in her professional career. Kristel is proud to be a member of the Board of Directors of PMI-Montreal. She has been an active volunteer for PMI-Montreal for the past 5 years and has contributed to several projects, including establishing the social-network strategy for the 2015 to 2017 Symposiums and advising on digital projects such as optimization of the website.
Kristel values the diverse role of a project manager in various industries as key to the growth of PMI-Montreal. Thanks to her experience in strategic and digital development, she is confident that she will be able to provide the necessary elements to support the chapter’s digital transformation, while remaining sensitive to current needs and growth for the acquisition of new members.
Thanks to her eclectic background, rigour and consistency, Kristel hopes above all to bring her passion and vision for the project management profession, to the Board of Directors, the PMI-Montreal chapter and its members.
Loreto Navarrete, MBA, PMP, M. Sc.
Loreto Navarrete accounts with seventeen years of international professional experience, mainly in planning and managing different types of projects in the sectors of information technology, events, international relations, multimode training and eLearning. She was assigned with a number of important mandates for large public and private organizations from various industries, both domestically and internationally.
Over the past decade she has assumed the project portfolio management on adult-elearning solutions, tailored to specific customer requirements and using interactive multimedia, as well as on the use of a Talent Management software (HRIS) and Learning Management System (LMS), in accordance with well-established ISO process (ISO 9001-2008 Quality Management).
In addition to her PMP certification, she holds several degrees including an International MBA from the IE Business School (Spain) and a M. Sc. in Political Science from the University of Montreal, with a specialization in International Relations and the European Union, which led her to an internship at the European Commission in Brussels, at the Directorate General I, External Relations: Commercial Policy and Relations with North America.
Having lived in Spain, Canada, South Africa and Belgium, she is fluent in French, English and Spanish.
Kateri Normandeau, Eng. P. Eng. M. Env. PMP
Kateri Normandeau is Vice President Geoenvironment at Groupe ABS inc. (ABS) - a Quebec leader in materials engineering, geotechnical studies for infrastructures and buildings, site supervision, environment and geotechnics.
Ms. Normandeau served as Vice President of National Strategy and Project Management, Environment and Geotechnics at WSP and represented the mining company Glencore-Xstrata during the Rehabilitation Mines Gaspé project (2007-2010), which was awarded the Shreyer Award of Consulting Engineering of Canada in 2011. A Golder Associate from 2002 to 2007, she held the position of Leader of Operations in Quebec for Golder-Construction Inc. In this capacity, she led the Nitchequon Rehabilitation Project, which won a grand prize of Quebec Consulting Engineering and Consulting Engineering in 2006.
She has been active on various strategic committees at the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec since 2009, where she became director from 2012 to 2014, then vice-president of public affairs in 2014. Ms. Normandeau now sits on the board of directors of the Project Management Institute - PMI Montreal (since 2015) and chairs the reputation committee and the HR committee.
Ms. Normandeau has completed the university certification program in corporate governance of the College of Corporate Directors of Université Laval.
Emilie Sénéchal, PMP
Émilie Sénéchal holds a Bachelor degree specializing in Project Management from HEC Montreal-Université de Montreal and a Master degree in Environmental Studies specializing in governance from the Université de Sherbrooke. She also holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification since 2013.
Émilie acts as project monitoring specialist within the corporate division of Hydro-Québec for the design and implementation of construction and rehabilitation projects for electricity generation and transmission facilities.
She has acquired more than eleven years of solid experience in project management through public, private and charitable organizations. She has held various roles in projects and projects portfolio management, including in the energy sector for the engineering firm AECOM, in public transport for the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) and in fundraising campaign management for UNICEF. Her practice focuses on the areas of expertise that she is passion about, the management of energy projects, risk management and governance and performance of boards of SMEs and NPOs.
Isabelle Tremblay, ing.
Isabelle Tremblay is Manager of the Project and Program portfolio and heads the corporate investment management office at the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). Previously, she worked as senior engineer and technical manager in international space exploration projects, particularly in connection with NASA’s Phoenix Mars Lander in 2008 and the James Webb Space Telescope, successor to the Hubble Telescope, with a planned 2018 launch.
She was a member of the Board of Directors of CAISU (Canadian Alumni of the International space University) and the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec), where she became Vice-President in 2013-2014.
Annie Bernard is a graduate of Laval University’s Faculty of Law, and has been a member of the Québec Bar Association since 2003. A partner with law firm Fasken Martineau, Annie's expertise focuses on commercial law, construction law, and class action lawsuits.
Her practice covers a broad range of complex matters, including construction matters and class action litigation. She represents clients in almost every sector of the construction industry (including owners, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers) on issues relating to financing, construction defects, project management and breaches of contract.
Annie has also developed expertise in issues regarding legal hypothecs for construction, calls for tenders, and conditions for the issuance of permits by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec. In addition, her practice involves the preparation and revision of contractual documents.
Annie has defended clients in several class action cases. Currently, she is involved in a class action lawsuit stemming from the ice storm of 1998, as well as another class action lawsuit stemming from the partial interruption of public transit services in May 2007 due to a legal strike action.
Marie David, M.Sc., CPA, CA
Marie is a Senior Manager in the audit practice of KPMG Montreal where she is also part of the People Leaders Group and university recruitment team. She is a chartered professional accountant and holds a Masters in Accounting. She was appointed Treasurer of PMI Montreal in January 2015 and Chairman of the Audit Committee in March 2015. With more than nine years as an auditor and business adviser of private and public companies operating in industries as varied as food, manufacturing, media, retail, architectural, pharmaceutical and mining, she has gained in-depth knowledge of best accounting practices, internal controls and auditing.
