Below you will find two forms to complete in order to submit your application: a nomination form and a candidate profile form. Both must be duly completed and received by the Nominating and Election Committee by March 9 at 5:00 p.m. at the following email address: elections@pmimontreal.org.

As previously mentioned, to submit your candidacy, your membership with PMI-Montréal must have been in good standing for at least 90 days prior to the opening of the online voting period, i.e., December 20, 2025, for the election beginning on March 20, 2026.

For your candidacy to be valid, it must be supported by at least one other PMI-Montréal member. This individual must be a member of both PMI and PMI-Montréal. If needed, please verify with the PMI-Montréal administrative office by writing to elections@pmimontreal.org.
You will be notified during the week of March 9 regarding the compliance of your candidacy.

PMI-Montréal is at a pivotal stage in its development. The next Board of Directors’ term will be marked by the implementation of structuring initiatives aimed at strengthening governance, ensuring financial sustainability, and increasing the association’s visibility within the project management ecosystem.
Members wishing to put their expertise to work on high-impact initiatives and actively contribute to PMI-Montréal’s strategic direction are invited to apply, particularly in the following areas of expertise:
  1. Governance | Expertise and/or certification in governance, with or without prior Board experience, to help evolve Board practices, strengthen risk management, and support strategic decision-making aligned with the association’s vision.

  2. Finance | Expertise in accounting, finance, or auditing to contribute to financial consolidation initiatives, financial oversight, and the organization’s long-term sustainability.

  3. Business Development | Ability to support growth initiatives related to corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and the development of value-added offerings for members.

  4. Lobbying / Government Relations | Experience in public affairs or institutional relations to support PMI-Montréal’s strategic positioning and strengthen its influence with public decision-makers.

  5. Legal | Expertise in law or a legal field to support the structuring of contractual frameworks, compliance, and legal risk management in a growth context.

Serving on the PMI-Montréal Board of Directors means actively contributing to structuring initiatives, participating in key decisions, and playing an active role in the evolution of the association.

Candidates submit their application for a two-year term, in accordance with the corporation’s bylaws, which are available on our website. In the event of a tie vote, the electoral regulations provide that the elected director will be determined by a random draw conducted by PMI-Montréal’s external auditors.
To review eligibility criteria, please refer to Article 27 of the bylaws.

Please note that the Board of Directors holds seven meetings per year, each lasting an average of 2.5 hours. These meetings take place in Montréal, generally at PMI-Montréal’s offices. A virtual participation option is available; however, in-person attendance is strongly preferred, and anyone submitting a candidacy commits to attending Board meetings.

In addition, attendance is mandatory at strategic retreats (lasting one to two days and held every two years), the Annual General Meeting, and training sessions intended for Board members. Board service is entirely voluntary and includes contributing to partnership development, notably by leveraging Board members’ professional networks for sponsorship purposes. The role represents an estimated annual commitment of approximately 70 hours, depending on the level of involvement in Board and committee work.

Online voting will be open from March 20, 2026, at 4:10 p.m. to April 10, 2026, at midnight. All PMI-Montréal members in good standing as of March 20, 2026 will be eligible to vote. The six candidates who receive the highest number of votes will be notified in advance and presented to members at the Annual General Meeting on April 22, 2026.

At PMI-Montréal, we are committed to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. These principles enable us to build a strong and effective Board of Directors to support our members in reaching their full potential. All qualified candidates are encouraged to submit their application, with reference to the competency profile outlined above.

We hope many of you will choose to get involved.

Best regards,

Daphee Van Lierde
Chair of the Elections Committee, PMI-Montréal
