The Project Management Institute (PMIĀ®) offers a project management certification program called the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPMĀ®). PMI oversees the development, evaluation, update, promotion and administration of this rigorous certification program that involves an examination of the highest caliber.
The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPMĀ®) program is recognized and highly valued by the international community of professionals in project management. The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPMĀ®) certification is aimed at professionals looking to demonstrate a basic knowledge of project management standards and terminology. The CAPMĀ® exam is based solely on material from the PMBOK.
In order to be eligible for the CAPMĀ® exam, you must fulfill one of the following two criteria.
Either 1,500 hours of project management work experience
23 hours of formal project management training.
PMI-Montreal offers preparation courses that fulfill the 23 hour formal training requirement. These courses are offered three times a year with varied schedule formats.
The CAPMĀ® certification expires after 5 years and there is no renewal process.
