The PMP® certification opens doors in every industry and connects you with a community of organizations and experienced experts worldwide. On average, people with this credential earn 24% more than those who are not certified.

Eligibility

The PMP® certification is designed for project managers who have relevant work experience as well as professional training in the field of project management.

To be eligible for the exam, you must meet one of the two following requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent, AND specifically 36 months of experience in project management AND 35 hours of formal project management training (or the CAPM® certification).

2. Diploma of college studies (DEC) or high school diploma, or equivalent, AND specifically 60 months of experience in project management AND 35 hours of formal project management training (or the CAPM® certification).

PMI-Montréal offers preparation courses for the PMP® exam that fulfill the requirement of 35 hours of formal training.

The exam is held at a Pearson Vue centre in your area.

The cost of the exam is US$405 for members and US$575 for non-members.

Maintaining your certification.

People with this designation must accumulate 60 professional development units (PDUs) every three years in order to maintain their credential. It is not mandatory to be a member of PMI Global or PMI-Montréal to do so. The cost is US$60 for members and US$100 for non-members.
